Over the years, I have built and grown multiple websites from 0 to 100k or even 200k using programmatic SEO. I have flipped half of them for a significant profit on Empire Flippers or online Facebook communities.

I leveraged this experience to create an SEO campaign that took a website in the SaaS industry from getting less than 2000 clicks to over 500000 clicks a month in just a matter of 3 months!

Here’s the complete process I followed.

Step 1 | Keyword Research and Strategy

The basics of a programmatic SEO project involve picking a topic that is scalable. For example “what colors go with {Color}” where the color could be Blue, Green, Yellow, etc. Now, you can create thousands of pages for thousands of colors and win the topical authority game.

For this case, since the business was about time management, I chose time as the niche!

I work with global teams and have often found myself googling what time it is in XYZ parts of the world where my colleagues or co-workers are to align with their schedule. The phrase here was “Time in {CITY} now.”

A little bit of digging and it turns out that this is a massive niche!

Yes, the CTR here is going to be pretty low as Google has a rich result for these queries.

However, it was still worth going after these keywords as it was pretty easy to rank for these terms.

So, I used the clusters report that gave me a list of about 14,000 topics which was later manually further filtered to about 8,000 pages using NLP and some Python scripts

And that’s how we had a list of 8,000+ pages to create.

Step 2 - Designing The Webpage Template

One of the most (if not “The” most) crucial aspects of devising a long-term programmatic SEO campaign is ensuring that the user experience for the multitude of pages you create is absolutely the BEST.
